We start from Järnavik, in the middle of the biosphere reserve Blekinge Arkipelag. With our electric snipe, we find our way among cobs and skerries. Our route takes us around Tjärö and the captain tells us about the island’s rich history. Not so long ago, people made a living here from hunting and fishing. There were 5 “farms” on the island, but not much arable land. For many decades, Tjärö was run by the Swedish Tourist Association, STF. Today, Tjärö is an exclusive destination with wonderful accommodation and a fantastic restaurant.
The tour takes 2 hours and during the tour includes coffee and bun, as well as a stop.
Until mid-July, islands with nesting birds are visited, but without landing.
